What is Dragon Quest?

Dragon Quest is a walking event with a difference - not only do teams compete on their navigation and timekeeping abilities, but they also compete in numerous small skill-based challenges at various points along the route. Points are awarded for teamwork, walking skills, and challenge performance. The winning team not only gets the glory of winning, but also our beautiful Dragon trophy for the year.

When is Dragon Quest?

This year, Dragon Quest is on the 29th of September 2024. Each team will be given a start time between 8:00 and 9:00 after they register. We aim to finish at about 16:00.

Where is Dragon Quest?

Dragon Quest is starting at Moss Bank Car Park, Bolton and finishing at Bibby's Farm.

Who can do Dragon Quest?

Dragon Quest is open to Scouts (10 - 14) based in South Ribble District. You'll need between 4 and 7 people to form a team.

Where do I sign up?

Leaders can register a team here. The deadline to register is 22/09/2024. Each group entering must also bring 2 leaders on the day for running checkpoints. Young Leaders do not count, but we'd still appreciate their help.

How much does Dragon Quest cost?

The event costs £10 per team, payable in cash only on the day.

What do I need to bring?

A full kit list is available here. Kit will be checked before the teams set off. Also, please make sure you bring a completed parental consent form for every young person taking part.
